Depression is a composition soaked in melancholy born out of the inability to lead a meaningful life.
In the Batak – Valley of the Saints documentary, depression is caused by fratricide and violence as the ultimate negation of humanism and common sense.
The refusal to take a stance and depriving others of choice are eternal problems as are the loss of memory and the inability to draw practical conclusions from bitter experiences.
Hence history repeats itself not merely as farce but as tragedy too – torturous stagnation, lack of progress, doubt and lack of willpower.

Depression was worked and reworked for years.
